Eakin was just beginning his time in Siam, but he managed to have a speech written in perfect Siamese. At the banquet he read the speech upon the insistance of the king. The king and all the people were amazed. Then the king said a few words in English, to which Eakin replied "Mai paw" (not enough!), a phrase he wasn't supposed to say in front of the King.
