They set up a time when the monks would come to the Landons' house. They had many of these sessions, and at the end Kenneth rewarded them with portions of Scripture. The speaker of the group told Kenneth that they had all decided to become Christians, to which Kenneth inquired if they meant to stop being Buddhists. They responded that they were going to be both Christians and Buddhists. In any case, this started a long time friendship between Kenneth and the monks, especially with the head monk.
