Kenneth recalls war stories associated with the area and tells of his visit to one particular island. It was eerie. He tells of his long visit inside the cave, how he got stuck at a dead end on his way out, and spared himself another twelve hours of walking by taking a huge risk of jumping down to where he needed to go. He took many pictures of the cave, especially the cathedral inside. He tells of the US soldiers hiding in this cave during WWII and being perfectly safe from the Japanese. Kenneth had told the OSS about this cave. Peggy couldn't manage it, though she tried hard, so to obey her Daddy, she put a finger at each corner of her mouth and drew it up so that she would look like she was smiling while continuing to weep. Kenneth couldn't help laughing "at her invention." Margaret felt the regular sunbaths the children were taking were improving their health. She tells of Peggy and Bill on vegetables.
